6 Quick Tips For Newsletters

Did you know it costs six times more to make a sale to a new customer than to an existing one? You can use newsletters to focus your marketing on past customers. Keep costs down by collecting email addresses (fish bowls, contests, customer surveys) and putting your newsletters in a brief email!  3 or 4 lines is all anyone will read – so KISS (you know… keep it simple & stupid)

Focus on Emotions: Zig Ziglar, a world famous sales trainer, states, “emotions drive buying decisions”. People buy on emotion and then justify it with logic.  IE – the smell of garlic bread! Marketing materials that focus on benefits appeal to customer emotions; while marketing materials that focus on features appeal to their logic. Even customers who insist they are buying based on features, do so because it makes them feel good. So, talk about the taste, the texture ~ make their mouths water!

  1. Include a Recipe
  2. Offer a 2 for 1 that expires in 2 weeks
  3. Attach a photo of a new dish
  4. Announce a special
  5. Highlight an Employee Of The Month
  6. Announce last week’s winner of the lunch drawing
  7. Offer a kitchen tip / how to
  8. Insert a video – its easier than you think using a Flip Video, uploading to YouTube and attaching the link
  9. Keep it short and sweet, don’t write a novel
  10. BE CONSISTENT!!!
