18 Questions to Ask Before You Commit to a Sponsorship

Make sure you spend your sponsorship dollars wisely – ask yourself these questions before you sign on the dotted line.
General:
- Is it proven? Or is this the first year?
- What is the investment?
- Is it your customer?
- Does it have PR potential?
- What is the estimated attendance?
- How many other sponsors are involved?
- What other food vendors are involved?
- What is the cost per impression?
- Do you have first right of refusal?
- Do you have category exclusivity?
- Is there an in-kind (trade) opportunity to offset the cash investment?
- Can you be on site to sample your product?
Media:
- Are you paying for media as part of the sponsorship package?
- Are the mediums chosen consistent with your customers?
- Is it media that fits with your marketing strategy?
Charity:
- Does the sponsorship have a charity component?
- What percentage goes to charity?
- Is the charity’s member base your customer?
